This is my very first attempt to post a blog.
Well, i have practically set up the account for...hmm...3 weeks or longer, but have not writen anything until now, and i wonder why. Is it because i have nothing to post, or perhaps too much to share and don't know where to begin.
I wished that i have started this blog site much earlier, perhaps since the time i was still conceiving. There has been much that i have gone through (i think), the goods and struggling moments, and they should have been shared a long time back. And now that everything turns out fine for me, i can bearly remember those so called "tough" moments. In fact, the challenging moments are those that really shape our behaviour today and our future.
Why do i set up this blog, or why do i name it "MOM - Mothers of Malaysia", because it's the circle for all moms, especially mothers in the modern society now. There are so many new challenges that were never existed before when we were kids then. Bringing up and shaping our children become so much more challenges. Malaysia is just where this blog will begin but not end, i hope.
Some said that it is in fact easier to bring up our kids now that we have more "HELP", just to name a few: modern technology, domestic help or nursery. Our mother never used to have disposable diapers or washing machine; neither do they employ domestic helper or send us to nursery before we turn 5. But are these so called advancements really making our life better? Well, perhaps not. Choices tend to make life more complicated, and it changes the basics of life, and changing our society. Imagine, with more choices, people are fighting to make more money - thinking of a better life. As a matter of fact, are we heading MORE FOR LESS? Is quality time more important for our loved ones than material gain? We are becoming more detach from each other - as a family unit.......and this is a real challenge in the modern society.
There are many more modern days challenges to being a mother today, like deciding to Breastfeed, choosing to be a stay-home mom and all the external exposure we have around. While we may seem to earn more, our THOUSANDS is in fact fetching us so much lesser than the HUNDREDS our parents have. Hence, i wish to pull together a circle for mothers.....share with us your experience if you have, if not your views. It will be deeply appreciated by all, especially those who are first-time parents!
Happy Parenting.
